The OGTT with Insulinemia (0, 60, 90, 120 minutes) at Primea Polyclinic in Belgrade is an oral glucose challenge test designed to assess pancreatic endocrine function and tissue insulin sensitivity.
The test starts with a baseline fasting blood draw (minute 0) to evaluate resting glucose and insulin, followed by the consumption of a standard glucose beverage. Blood draws are repeated at 60, 90, and 120 minutes to plot glucose and insulin levels, providing clinicians with precise data on glucose regulation.
It is recommended for evaluating insulin resistance, prediabetes, metabolic syndrome, PCOS, unexplained weight gain, and related hormonal imbalances.
An overnight fast of 10 to 12 hours is required prior to testing. Patients must remain resting at the clinic for the full two hours of the test, avoiding physical activity, smoking, and food or beverage consumption.
