The Osteoporosis Laboratory Panel at Primea Polyclinic in Belgrade is a diagnostic blood profile designed to assess bone turnover, mineral balance, and underlying causes of decreased bone mineral density.
This panel measures vitamin D levels, essential minerals and binding proteins (calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, albumin), parathyroid hormone (PTH), and alkaline phosphatase (ALP). It also evaluates thyroid hormones (TSH and FT4), as thyroid dysfunction can accelerate bone mass reduction.
This panel is recommended for postmenopausal women, men over the age of 50, patients diagnosed with osteopenia, individuals who have experienced low-impact fractures, or those with suspected metabolic bone disorders or secondary causes of bone loss. It is also suitable for patients on long-term corticosteroid therapy or for monitoring treatment response.
Patients must arrive in the morning fasting (10–12 hours without food). Avoid taking calcium or vitamin D supplements immediately before the blood draw.
