The First Gynecological Examination Package at Primea Polyclinic in Belgrade is an educational, reassuring, and gentle consultation tailored for adolescents and young women attending their first gynecological check-up.
The package includes an open discussion regarding menstrual cycles, a gynecological exam, a pelvic ultrasound (transabdominal or transvaginal), colposcopy, a Pap test, and a cervical swab. A clinical breast exam with instruction on self-examination techniques is included, with optional STI screening. The physician dedicates focused time to patient education regarding anatomy, hygiene, contraception, HPV vaccination, and answering questions in a comfortable setting.
This appointment is recommended after becoming sexually active, in cases of painful or irregular periods, unusual discharge, or simply as an informative preventive milestone.
It is best scheduled after the menstrual period has concluded. For patients who are not sexually active, the exam is adapted accordingly; the ultrasound is typically performed transabdominally (over the abdomen), which requires drinking several glasses of water prior to the appointment to ensure a full bladder.
