The Triple Test (beta-hCG, AFP, and Estriol) and Ultrasound at Primea Polyclinic in Belgrade is a non-invasive second-trimester prenatal screening used to assess the statistical risk of fetal chromosomal anomalies and open neural tube defects.
The package includes a detailed ultrasound to confirm exact gestational age and evaluate fetal anatomical development, combined with laboratory analysis of three maternal serum markers: alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), human chorionic gonadotropin (beta-hCG), and unconjugated estriol (uE3). Integrating ultrasound parameters with biochemical values through dedicated calculation software produces a reliable risk calculation.
This screening is typically carried out between gestational weeks 15 and 20 (most often between weeks 16 and 18), especially if the first-trimester Double Test was missed, if previous screening results were borderline, or for pregnant women aged 35 and older.
Fasting is not required; however, both the ultrasound scan and the blood sample must be performed on the same day. Please bring all previous documentation regarding your pregnancy.
